The value of the project is $3.5 million.

NorSask Forest Products said this investment represents the first major phase of a multi-year capital investment program, intended to enhance productivity and cost performance.

For this phase of investment, NorSask Forest Products is working with Wolftek Industries Inc., Carbotech International, and VAB Solutions as major equipment vendors for the project which will include a lineal grade optimizer, trimsaws, and a high speed mainline end stacker.

“This new equipment at the cutting edge of the technology will enable NorSask Forest Products to significantly increase its production efficiency by increasing their productivity and the quality of their product,” said Marc Voyer Eng, Vice President, General Manager of VAB Solutions, which signed a contract to install a complete Planer Mill Lumber Grading Optimizer for the Meadow Lake mill.
