New Gear Equipment Sawmilling
VAB to introduce new tech

Sept. 8, 2014 – VAB's focus on research and development has led to a new fibre oriented module that alows the detection and accurate grading of knots, grain distortion and wood compression. Since its creation ten years ago, the company has invested more than $3.5 million in R & D in order to keep its flagship product, the Planer Mill Lineal Grading Optimizer, ahead of the curve.

With 24 systems sold, the company has built a solid reputation for its performance, precision, competitive acquisition cost and low maintenance costs. The system requires no calibration and is built with a minimum of components for lasers, cameras and computers in order to assist customers in reducing operational costs.

The new high precision grading optimizer locates precisely the pith and knot placement in southern yellow pine (SYP) and spruce, pine and fir (SPF). Visit VAB at Intersaw for a chance to see the new technology in person.
