TimberWest contractor killed in B.C.

February 29, 2016 – An employee of a TimberWest contractor was killed on Friday afternoon in what the company is calling a tragic accident.

According to an article from the Vancouver Sun, the worker was killed at TimberWest’s Bonanza Lake site near Port McNeill.

“We express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues touched by this tragic accident,” said Jeff Zweig president and CEO of TimberWest. “Our industry is tightly knit, and the pain from this loss is felt throughout.”

TimberWest has lent its full support to authorities in the ongoing investigation. Operations will be suspended on Monday.
