Concrete coalition responds to mass timber

With more and more mid-rise construction projects using mass timber products, the concrete sector is responding to what it sees as a threat to its market share.

Build with Strength, a coalition of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) in the United States, has produced a video that aims to warn consumers about the potential perils of wooden building materials. The video (watch here) raises concerns about the potential fire hazards created by the use of cross laminated timber and features brief snippets of an interview with Jon Narva of the U.S. National Association of State Fire Marshals.
