WFP to temporarily suspend operations at Alberni sawmill

Western Forest Products’ Alberni Pacific Division (APD) Sawmill in Port Alberni, B.C. will be closed for a month as of March 18.

According to Alberni Valley News, operations at APD will be temporarily suspended for four weeks, as a result of market conditions.

“Our APD facility mainly produces products for the Japanese market, so it’s related to market demand for that product,” WFP director of communications Babita Khunkhun told Alberni Valley News.
