Wood construction continues growth
March 2, 2016 – Work is underway on the construction of the 18-storey Brock Commons, a student residence being built of the campus of the University of British Columbia.

According to a CBC report, the residence will be the largest wood building in Canada upon completion, and one of the largest in the world.
As the technology and safety elements of wood building construction continue to grow, other major metropolitans around the globe are planning significant wood building projects of their own. Plans are in the works for a 25-storey office building in Vienna, as well as a 35-storey tower in Paris.
