The Chronicle Journal reported that in a ratification vote Sunday, 60 per cent of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers union members voted, by secret ballot, to ratify the agreement.
The deal ratifed on Sunday provides a starting wage of $21.41 per hour, a mandatory benefit package (employees are not allowed to opt out) and status quo in terms of vacation entitlement.
Maintenance and production workers, about 150 in total, at Resolute’s sawmill voted more than a year ago to join the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP).
