WorkSafeBC looking for peer reviewers

June 2, 2015 - WorkSafeBC’s Systematic Review grant competition and Specific Priorities Research grant competition are nearing the application deadlines of June 29 and July 6 respectively. The organization is canvassing all of its peer reviewers to ask if they would be willing (and available) to perform one or more peer review(s). Please note, depending on the number of proposals that pass preliminary screening and the responses from potential peer reviewers, people may or may not be asked to perform the review.

The purpose of WorkSafeBC’s research funding program is to stimulate the creation of new knowledge on matters of importance to WorkSafeBC and to the workers and employers of British Columbia through a competitive research granting process. Peer review is the cornerstone of this funding program. For these funding streams, peer reviewers are asked to evaluate a project's scientific merit and the knowledge, expertise, and experience of the research team.

WorkSafeBC anticipates a deadline for completed peer reviews of Sept. 8, 2015, and will once again be offering reviewers a $250 honorarium.

Peer reviewers for the organization can email resquery@worksafebc.com at their earliest opportunity and tell them yes, yes multiple or not available, and WorkSafeBC will update its list of potential reviewers accordingly for this competition.

The Systematic Review request for proposals and the Specific Priorities Research request for proposals are both available on the WorkSafeBC website.
