Blaze destroys cedar mill in B.C.
April 6, 2017 - A sawmill was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday in McBride, B.C.
BKB Cedar Manufacturing caught fire at approximately 5 a.m. on April 5.
Fire crews were called in but could not save the structure.
No one was injured in the fire.
BKB Cedar president Raj Basran told media that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and that support will be offered to the 35 full-time employees of the sawmill and their families.
BKB Cedar was established in 2013. It is a main source of income and employment for the village of McBride, which has about 600 residents.
