NS forest researchers discover oldest tree in Maritimes

Forest researchers with Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources and Renewables discovered a 532-year-old hemlock tree this summer, making it the oldest tree recorded in the Maritimes.
According to CBC, the eastern hemlock is in a protected old-growth forest stand near the South Panuke Wilderness Area, northwest of Hubbards.
