Vancouver Sun calls for greater focus on forestry
July 12, 2016 – The editorial board of the Vancouver Sun is urging British Columbia’s provincial government to take note of what mayors in forestry-dependent coastal communities said in the latest Truck Loggers Association survey.

The editorial reported on the survey results, which show waning optimism about the future of coastal forestry in B.C., and noted that some of the province’s forestry policy changes haven’t produced the expected payoffs in these communities.
The editorial also noted, “nobody should take the forest industry for granted. So if the mayors of many of these communities are flagging concerns about the future, it would be wise of the provincial government to pay very close attention.”
