
Canfor’s operations in Vanderhoof (Plateau) and in Chetwynd are scheduled to resume operating at four days a week beginning May 11. Canfor’s Elko sawmill in the Kootenays will also be operating at four days a week, while its WynnWood sawmill in the Kootenays will run five days a week.
Operations in Houston, Isle Pierre, Polar and Radium are being extended until at least the middle of May and then will as Canfor assess market demand and operating economics. They will make capacity adjustments to align supply with demand as necessary, says Canfor spokeswoman Michelle Ward in an email to the Prince George Citizen.
