Carrier Lumber temporarily closing Big River Mill, Tabor Planer

March 30, 2020  By  Maria Church

Carrier Lumber has called a temporary halt to two of its operations – the Big River, Sask., sawmill and the Tabor Planer mill in Prince George, B.C.

The closures will result in the layoff of around 120 staff members.

In emails to local papers, Carrier Lumber president William Kordyban said they hope the layoffs are short term and employees will be back to work as soon as possible.

The company’s Tabor sawmill, fabrication shop, and Prince Albert, Sask., reload division are continuing to run as usual.
