Irving says N.B. mill has plenty of wood
July 24, 2013 – J.D. Irving Ltd. is rejecting suggestions that a shift of some Crown wood to their Chipman mill is to blame for the approaching shutdown of a sawmill in Miramichi, N.B.
Irving spokesperson Mary Keith says Miramichi Lumber Products has plenty of its own allocation on Crown lands that it hasn’t used and that it has not operated year-round in the last four years, which may explain why it hasn’t used all of its allocation.
