Lumber prices increase slightly in the new year: Madison’s

In the week ending Jan. 5, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$452 mfbm. This is up by $38, or nine per cent, compared to the previous week when it was $414.
That week’s price is up by $41, or 10 per cent from one month ago when it was $411 mfbm. Compared to the same week last year, when it was $352 mfbm, that week’s price is up by $100, or 28 per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $1,100 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $648 or 59 per cent.
In the week ending Jan. 5, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was $470 mfbm. This is up by $10, or two per cent from the previous week when it was $460 mfbm.
That week’s price is up by $18, or four per cent from one month ago when it was $453 mfbm. Compared to the same week last year when it was $395 mfbm, that week’s price is up by $75, or 19 per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $1,390 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $920 or 66 per cent.
