Ontario Forest Industries Association welcomes AV Terrace Bay

The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) has announced that AV Terrace Bay has joined the association.

“AV Terrace Bay is a cornerstone of Ontario’s pulp and fibre business, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the OFIA. AV’s guiding principles of operational excellence, streamlining, and adapting to changing market conditions align with OFIA’s vision of making Ontario a leading forest products jurisdiction,” said Ian Dunn, OFIA’s president and CEO. “We know that AV Terrace Bay and their incredible roster of talent will contribute to the OFIA on many fronts and help build a stronger Ontario,” he added.

“On behalf of AV Terrace Bay, I’m delighted that our organization is joining the OFIA. We know that our industry is strongest when it stands together, and we’re happy to join over 40 other members of our sector in the OFIA,” said Scott Boone, woodlands manager at AV Terrace Bay.

AV Terrace Bay is part of the Aditya Birla Group, which has operations in 36 countries and employs over 140,000 workers. Aditya Birla has businesses in 14 global sectors, from telecommunications to branded apparel, and is headquartered in Mumbai.

The facility has a long history in the community of Terrace Bay, with the original pulp mill opening in 1947, and it remains the community’s largest employer.
