Steady lumber demand persists amidst stable prices: Madison’s

In the week ending Jan. 12, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$442 mfbm. This is down by $10, or two per cent compared to the previous week when it was $452. That week’s price is up by $31, or eight per cent, from one month ago when it was $411 mfbm.
Compared to the same week last year, when it was $370 mfbm, that week’s price is up by $72, or 19 per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $1,100 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $658 or 60 per cent.
In the week ending Jan. 12, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was $460 mfbm. This is down by $10, or two per cent from the previous week when it was $470 mfbm.
That week’s price is up by $8, or two per cent from one month ago when it was $453 mfbm. Compared to the same week last year when it was $410 mfbm, that week’s price is up by $50, or 12 per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $1,390 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $930, or 67 per cent.
