Alberta grants Tolko’s High Prairie FMA extension

Oct. 20, 2016 - Tolko has accepted the conditions of a five-year forest management area extension for High Prairie offered by Alberta Agriculture and forestry.
In a statement released Sept. 29, Dan Lux, executive director for the department, said the five-year deal has conditions, including the re-opening of Tolko’s OSB mill in High Prairie. If conditions are met, the government will negotiate for a 20-year FMA renewal.
South Peace News reports that Tolko has accepted the terms of the deal.
