Comact unveils hybrid sawline for flexible sawmilling

Comact has introduced a hybrid sawline combining circular saws, bandsaws, and AI-driven technology to handle a wide range of log diameters. The system is designed to improve efficiency and flexibility for sawmills, particularly in the southern U.S., where diverse log sizes are common.

The sawline allows mills to process various products on a single line, replacing the need for multiple systems. Features include Comact’s Smart Vision system for optimized log feeding and tools for precision and recovery. CEO Simon Potvin said the hybrid design addresses key industry challenges while enhancing productivity.
