Construction jobs added in U.S.
Nov. 12, 2013, Washington – Despite predictions that the 16-day government closure in the U.S. would have a negative effect on their economy, the American construction industry gained 11,000 jobs last month.

Statistics released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the industry is growing steadily. In September, 18,000 jobs were added with another solid month in October resulting in an industry that employs 5.834 million people, three per cent higher than a year ago and at a level that hasn’t been seen since August 2009.
