File Week 2017 is a wrap!

May 5, 2017 - File Week 2017 wraps up today after five full days of coverage focused on new technology and processes for the filing room.

Our main stories this week were from the BC Saw Filers Association annual convention that took place in Kamloops on the weekend. Filers mingled and took in the latest technology at the trade show. During the convention’s sessions, Tolko’s maintenance leader Brian Shale emphasised the importance of filers learning from each, breaking the barriers of industry competition and instead working together.

CFI columnists Trevor Shpeley and Udo Jahn also drew attention this week with their tips on saw alignment, gap control, levelling and saw wreaks. New columnist Josh Penner shared his story of climbing the mill ranks to become a head filer.

CFI’s File Week 2017 landing page will continue to be a hub for both saw filers and other stakeholders to learn best practices and find the latest information on advancements in saw filing technology. Content on our landing page will be hosted there for the next year for readers to reference.
