WoodFacts website launched

Mar. 24, 2014, Ottawa – The Canadian Wood Council and its partners have launched a new website designed to spread facts about building with wood.

The website, WoodFacts (woodfacts.cwc.ca), has been designed to provide builders, contractors, architects and others with the information required to build mid-rise wooden structures. Fact sheets, case studies and reports are easily accessed and shared.

The website is launched as Ontario considers adapting its building code to allow for six-storey wood buildings. The move would make mid-rise construction more affordable and lend support to the local forest industry. The province made the announcement that it would allow six-storey wood construction on March 20th and the public has 45 days to comment.
