Kenora Forest Products parent company files for bankruptcy

The owners of Kenora Forest Products have filed for bankruptcy and put the northwestern Ontario sawmill up for sale.

Winnipeg-based Prendiville Industries shuttered the sawmill in September, laying off 113 workers. On Dec. 5, the company filed for bankruptcy.

CBC News reports that the company aims to sell the mill and its assets by April 2020, with the hope that new owners will restart operations.
