Susan Yurkovich succeeds retiring Don Kayne as Canfor CEO

Canfor Corporation has announced that Don Kayne, who has been with Canfor for 46 years and has served as president and CEO since 2011, will retire at the end of the year.

The company also announced that Susan Yurkovich, currently senior vice-president of global business development, will succeed Kayne as CEO starting January 1, 2025. Yurkovich brings 30 years of experience in the natural resources sector, including 12 years with Canfor. She has held executive roles in both forestry and energy, such as president and CEO of the BC Council of Forest Industries and executive vice-president at BC Hydro.

John Baird, Chairman of Canfor’s Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Kayne’s contributions and stated confidence in Yurkovich’s ability to continue expanding the company’s global operations and product offerings. Kayne will remain as an advisor through 2025.
