Woodlot owners are free to clear-cut: N.S. minister

Sept. 16, 2016 - The Nova Scotia government will not tell private woodlot owners how to harvest on their properties, which means not restricting clear cutting, the province's natural resources minister said Thursday.
Lloyd Hines told media he does not believe clear cutting happening now is adversely affecting wildlife. Nova Scotia currently has the highest amount of protected wilderness areas in the country.
