Year-end 2023 lumber prices match 2022 levels: Madison’s

In the week ending Dec. 8, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$408 mfbm. This is down by $6, or one per cent, compared to the previous week when it was $414. That week’s price is up by $5, or one per cent from one month ago when it was $403 mfbm.
Compared to the same week last year, when it was $400 mfbm, that week’s price is up by $14, or three per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $710 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $296 or 42 per cent.
In the week ending Dec. 8, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was $445 mfbm. This is up by $15, or four per cent, from the previous week when it was $430 mfbm.
That week’s price is up by $31, or seven per cent, from one month ago when it was $414 mfbm. Compared to the same week last year, when it was $445 mfbm, that week’s price is flat. Compared to two years ago when it was $835 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $390, or 47 per cent.
