Lumber prices rise on supply constraints: Madison’s

In the week ending Nov. 3, the price of Western S-P-F 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was US$380 mfbm. This is flat from the previous week. That week’s price is down by $4, or one per cent from one month ago when it was $384 mfbm.
Compared to the same week last year, when it was $490 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $110, or 16 per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $620 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $240 or 39 per cent.
In the week ending Nov. 3, the price of Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) was $415 mfbm. This is down by $20, or five per cent from the previous week when it was $435.
That week’s price is down by $54, or 11 per cent from one month ago when it was US$469 mfbm. Compared to the same week last year, when it was US$450 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $35, or eight per cent. Compared to two years ago when it was $810 mfbm, that week’s price is down by $395, or 49 per cent.
