New Brunswick sued over forestry policy
May 13, 2016 - The Government of New Brunswick is being take to court by seven Mi'kmaq First Nations over its forest policies and management agreements with forestry companies, according to a recent CBC report.
The report states that, the chiefs oppose a 2014 forest strategy decision that allowed the AAC for softwood on Crown land to be increased by 20 per cent - decreasing the amount of Crown lands off-limits to the forestry sector to 23 per cent from 30 per cent.
