Unifor president wants renewed footing
July 4, 2014 – The national president of Unifor, which represents 21,000 forestry workers and recently negotiated a deal with Resolute Forest Products has called for a reinstated National Forestry Council in a letter published in The Montreal Gazette.
In the letter, Jerry Dias says this National Forestry Council should have a specific mandate to investigate and make recommendations on all issues involving the forestry sector and with the full participation of the provincial governments.
